The Hotel

A 400 year old ex drover in situated in the steep sided Tal-y-llyn valley, literally at the very base of Cader Idris, This famous snowdonia mountain is literally situated in our back garden, only a 5 mins walk will take you to the start of the Minffordd Path which leads you up this impressive mountain.

We are a family run small hotel with a reputation for friendliness and our attention to your holiday needs. We want you to relax and enjoy your stay with us here in our friendly, informal atmosphere we try to create.

The original parts of the building are over 400 years old as the building was a drovers inn back in the day, so as you would expect the walls are very thick and there are plenty of originally features such as the original wood beams which can be seen throughout the building. We have tried to keep the interior style & decor traditional to a building of this type, without to much over modernisation which would in our opinion loose the charm & character of the house. We do also have our log fire which is a key feature during the winter months.
Another key feature that guest enjoy is the  100% pure welsh natural mineral water that is available on tap in each & every bedroom here at Minffordd, we are supplied by our own bore hole.

We have 7 very comfortable, central heated en suite bedrooms in total for guest to enjoy, 2 doubles, 1 superior double, 2 twins and 2 singles, we also have 2 rooms downstairs 1 double and 1 twin, and these are also our pet friendly rooms

We have a small restaurant with 7 tables seating a maximum of 20 people. All meal are served here throughout the day and evening where you can sample our chefs food which is prepared on the premises using local welsh produce where possible on our Aga. You will also have extra options on our daily special board situated in the bar area

We have 2 lounges available for guest to relax in at any time of the day maybe after dinner with a glass or two of your favourite drink from our extensively well stocked bar, which also has its own seating area.  Breakfast is also served in the restaurant with a selection of fresh fruit, cereals & fruit juices, full breakfast’s are cooked freshly to order.

We have deliberately refrained from adding TVs to our bedroom as we feel and most people agree that they come here to stay with us, relax & enjoy the peacefulness’ & tranquillity of this stunning area of southern Snowdonia in a building that has welcomed visitors for over 400 years.
