GORDON
Taking over Minffordd was a very big change in lifestyle as I have never done anything like this before, I did however successfully work, owned & run a number of car repair garages specialising in tyres, exhaust back in Manchester.
The time had come that I needed and alternative project to concentrate on with less manual work to turn my attention to. Me and Michelle thought long & hard and decided we would really like to own a small hotel & or bed & breakfast business. We looked around and fell in love with not only this 400 year old building but the fantastic location here in Talyllyn
MICHELLE
I have always worked in the catering trade since leaving school and i class my self as an accomplished cook, I successfully run my own cafeteria back in Manchester within a supermarket / shopping centre environment.
Bury were we originate from was changing and being modernised quite quickly, I used this time to turn my attentions to an alternative lifestyle. We always loved to travel & grab weekends away when we could, I personally always wondered what it would be like to run my own hotel…………. So taking over Minffordd was the best thing I had ever done……….
CHEF DARREN
Has been here at Minffordd with Michelle & Gordon since they took over ownership in 2001. You may not see much of him as he’s usually busy in the kitchen. If you do have any special requests or requirements please let him know he will do his utmost to try and meet them
Darren worked with Michelle for around 8 years back in Manchester prior to moving here to Wales.
When we told him of our new plans here in Wales he jumped at the chance to move down here with us
