A real beauty spot in the true sense of the word, Tal-y-Llyn is a centered around a large glacial finger lake beneath the towering rugged slopes of Cadair Idris, near the resort of Tywyn. The lake is situated in one of the most photogenic and scenic of all valleys in Wales, surrounded by heather clad slopes.

There are numerous places to relax and picnic along its shoreline. Tal-y-Llyn has a reputation for excellent trout fishing.

The small but characterful area of Tal-y-Llyn is located in the shadows of Cader Idris , there are a series of small but attractive cascades on the the beautiful River Dysynni. It lies in the shadows of looming Cadair Idris and has a small church and a few hotels. Fishing boats can be hired locally

There is also a lovely walk with only a couple slight inclines on good stable ground/ roads & paths around Talyllyn lake, its approx 5 miles long walk that takes around 2 hours, the view are very special of cader idris & surrounding mountains,
